'111 GIRLS' (original title: 111 DOKHTAR) by Nahid Ghobadi and Bijan Zamanpira, has recently premiered in the Busan International Film Festival as part of the New Currents competition.
"Iraq’s destructive legacy and a recent penchant for conflict are among the roots of Kurdish distress. It’s not a new idea, but Ghobadi and Zamanpira’s rendering of it is at once beautiful" says Hollywood Reporter journalist Elizabeth Kerr in her review following the 111 GIRLS' Busan International Film Festival world premiere.
